What if I Told You That Your Dream Life is 30 Days Away?

If I told you right now that science had a confirmed way for achieving perfect health and a flawless physique, would you be interested? I bet you would.

If I told you that this method was something you already know how to do and all it takes is 30 days of consistency, would you implement it in your daily routine? And what if I told that this something is not even hard; it’s simply doing 100 sit-ups every single day, would you do them?

If I showed how my body has changed just by doing 100 sit-ups a day, and you saw my abs and lean muscles, would you join me in a challenge of doing 100 sit ups a day together?

I bet you would!

Sure, you may end up doing them 25 out of the 30 days, or perhaps even 20, but you’d join me, right?

But when you lay in bed at night, when the day has ended and there’s nothing more to be done, are your future abs going to give you a sense of calm, or do you need more than that? Will you still need to quiet your brain down so you can fall asleep?

Will you still ask yourself about your purpose in this world? I’ve placed a few bets already, but I’ll do it one more time because I’m quite certain of the answer (even if you’re not).

I bet, that having abs won’t create the life fulfilment you’re craving.

But you know what can?

Actually, before I tell you, I wonder if you care what can give you an actual peace of mind? That activity that can set your internal world in order and allow you to feel happy for just being, even when some days you achieve nothing but stare at a wall all day.

Do you want to know?

Writing. To be more precise, it’s journaling. The old fashioned way — notebook, pen and pencil, hand moving, etc. You know the drill (or at least I hope you do).

If you think that’s nonsense and you feel tempted to go away, read the next few sentences and then make a call.

Have you ever experienced a misunderstanding with a friend? Things were said, they didn’t quite sound alright, the relationship feels broken and you can’t even tell why. And then you have a chat about it, prompted randomly, and you realise what a giant silly misunderstanding it was and you go back home laughing, but incredibly relieved and full of new found hope.

That’s exactly the kind of conversation you get with journaling, but this one is the most important person in the world: yourself. And that exact feeling of calm relief is the exact emotion you get to achieve.

I won’t bore you with the actual science, even though it’s there. If you care about the scientific reason to journal, you’re welcome to research it — you’ll be fascinated way beyond what you can imagine.

What I’m asking you to care about here is your sanity.

I’m asking you to care about liking yourself.

I’m asking you to care about staying sane when next time shit hits the fan in your life.

There people out there selling you life advice and you’re paying for it, and I’m here telling you that everything you need is to grab a pen and paper, shut the world out for 30 minutes and chat to yourself.

Are you tempted to believe me, or would you rather find a magic pill for your anxiety, and continue on the path of doom you darn well know you’re on?

Or would you rather pay someone to give you the magic formula to actually getting your shit together and finding the life you are happy to live?

If the latter is true, here’s my proposal:

  1. Take £50 / $50 / €50 and put them in a separate account that has some interest. Doesn’t matter what percentage. Forget about the money.
  2. Visit DailyPages.life/Challenge and sign up for the journaling challenge starting on the 1st of July. Yes, it’s free — your mental health is not and has never been about money!
  3. Get your sleeping routine on track, so you can show up on the 1st of July.
  4. Find a notebook you like and a pen or a pencil you enjoy writing with. If you want to make it fun and colourful, go and get yourself some stickers. I relieve you from societal expectations and you ARE ALLOWED to stick stickers in a notebook even as an adult.
  5. Show up on the 1st of July.

I’ll take it from there and I’ll guide you through 31 days of prompted journaling that might just turn your life around and show you where you store the happiness you’ve been looking for.

Because it’s there. The life you love is right there with you and you will see it, once we surgically remove the blindness. Together.
